Citing safety concerns, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ “sister” missionaries in all 407 of its proselytizing missions around the world will be able to wear slacks, for the first time, whenever they choose.
The change, approved by the Utah-based faith’s governing First Presidency and sure to be met with cheer for Latter-day Saint women around the globe, will take effect immediately.
“Adjustment to the missionary dress and grooming standards have changed over time since the beginning of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ in 1830 and will continue to do so in the future,” said apostle Dieter F.
