West Jordan • A judge Thursday heard arguments in U.S. Rep. Mia Love’s requesting the ability to challenge the Salt Lake County clerk’s vote tabulation in the hard-fought congressional race she’s currently losing.
The roughly two-hour hearing ended without a ruling from the bench, although the judge said he understood the need for swift action in the case.
Meanwhile, Salt Lake County Clerk Sherrie Swensen said the count is continuing, with more results to be posted at 5 p.m.
The razor-thin margins in the 4th Congressional District contest have raised the stakes in the ongoing ballot-counting process, with Democratic challenger Ben McAdams now leading the Republican incumbent by only 873 votes.
