Top Mormon officials and gay activists may be at odds over same-sex marriage, but they may be on the same page when it comes to caring for at-risk youths.
The latest evidence: The LDS Church has endorsed this month’s LoveLoud Festival, organized by Imagine Dragons’ lead singer, Dan Reynolds, to benefit four gay support groups.
“We applaud the LoveLoud Festival for LGBTQ Youth’s aim to bring people together to address teen safety and to express respect and love for all of God’s children,” the statement reads. “We join our voice with all who come together to foster a community of inclusion in which no one is mistreated because of who they are or what they believe.
