Utah wildlife officials are searching for a black bear that injured a boy in Utah’s Hobble Creek Canyon east of Springville early Tuesday after it entered a private campground and disturbed a tent where the youngster was sleeping.
The boy suffer minor scratches and is expected to be OK, according Faith Jolley, spokeswoman for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources.
The bear, however, will be euthanized because of its apparent lack of fear of people.
“It is unclear how long it may take to locate the bear, but we will work to find it until we have exhausted all our options,” Jolley said.
