After a glorious Pride Festival, Utah LGBT activists were greeted Monday by grim news: The U.S. Supreme Court had sided with a Colorado baker who had refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.
“We’re incredibly disappointed that that was the decision,” said Rob Moolman, executive director of the Utah Pride Center. “Particularly because we woke up to this news the day after the Pride Festival and the parade. It’s given us a reality check about the amount of work that still needs to be done.”
He said the final totals aren’t in yet, but that the 2018 festival was the most successful to date in attendance and revenue.
