Provo • Injuries have taken their toll on BYU’s football team after the Cougars played four Power Five opponents in their first five games of the season.
Tight end Moroni Laulu-Pututau is the latest player to sustain an injury, and BYU confirmed Monday that the junior is out for the season with an ACL tear. Laulu-Pututau noted the setback on Twitter Sunday night.
Coach Kalani Sitake said that freshman Hank Tuipulotu could see some time in Laulu-Pututau’s absence, although the primary tight ends now will be sophomore Matt Bushman and freshman Dallin Holker.
