BOISE — The crowd outside had dissipated by the time Utah State coach Matt Wells reached the interview room, mainly because there wasn’t much crowd to begin. No momentum, either. For the Utah State Aggies, their season took a right at Tremonton and finished up somewhere south of Yellowstone.
Tuesday in the Mildly Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, the Aggies wrapped up what quarterback Kent Myers labeled “a disappointing” year. It ended in a mostly empty stadium (official attendance 18,876; eyeball total, half that) on a cold winter afternoon. A last-minute score pulled them within two, but the onside kick failed.
