LOGAN — For Aggie fans, 2015 will long be remembered as a season of what could have been thanks to Utah State's epic, 52-26 rout of Boise State at Maverik Stadium.
But after USU's shocking victory over the No. 21 Broncos on Oct. 16 left the team at 4-2, the Aggies ended up winning just two out of their final seven games and closed out the year with a 23-21 loss to Akron in the Idaho Potato Bowl.
Although USU finished in a four-way tie for second place in the Mountain Division, had the Aggies been able to knock off Air Force or New Mexico, Utah State would have played San Diego State in the Mountain West championship game.
