One man is dead and another remained in critical condition Thursday after the truck they were in ran a stop sign and smashed into a Garden City sporting goods store, knocking it off its foundation.
According to the Utah High Patrol, the accident occurred at 6:37 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of US-89 and state route 30. Video of the incident shows the truck running the stop sign and rolling onto its side as it attempted to turn right on SR-30, then slamming into the Pugstones Sporting store at Raspberry Square.
“Prior to the crash, witnesses indicated that the semi was driving erratic at a high rate of speed,” UHP reported on its website.
