Why the Jazz reportedly acquired guard Kendall Marshall from Sixers for Tibor Pleiss, picks

The Utah Jazz have acquired Kendall Marshall, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

In exchange for the point guard, the Jazz will send the Tibor Pleiss, two second-round picks and cash to the Philadelphia 76ers, Wojnarowski said.

Marshall would be the sixth point guard on the Jazz's roster, but he will be waived before his $2 million salary for next season becomes guaranteed Sept. 2.

Pleiss' deal is guaranteed for $3 million next season.

The Jazz are planning to waive Marshall and remainder of his guaranteed contract, league sources tell @TheVertical.
