The Utah Jazz have a new owner: Ryan Smith.
The announcement came Wednesday morning that ownership of the team, as well as Vivint Arena, the G League’s Salt Lake City Stars and “management” of the Salt Lake Bees are included in the sale and shifts ownership from the Miller family to Smith.
Who is Ryan Smith?
Smith is the CEO of Qualtrics, a Utah County tech company that Smith cofounded with his brother Jared in 2002. Qualtrics — which uses survey tools and deep analytics to help companies assess their performance with clients and employees — was acquired by European software company SAP in 2018 for $8 billion in what is the largest private enterprise software acquisition all time.
