On a few occasions recently, Mitchell has used an opposing fan’s behavior to help fuel him to strong performances.
On Wednesday, the second-year guard used Jazz fans to help with a critical play.
With Utah up 113-107 and 1:14 left, the Nuggets were set to inbound the ball on their offensive side of the court as they tried to claw back into the game. Before the play began, Mitchell could be seen talking to some nearby fans, who then were rowdy as Barton tried to inbound the ball with Mitchell in his face.
Barton failed, and was called for a five-second violation, resulting in a turnover, and a hyped Mitchell gave a fan a high-five.
