When the Utah Jazz signed free agents Kenneth Lofton Jr. and Darius Bazley to 3-year non-guaranteed contracts, the NBA world accepted the move as a low-risk, high-reward chance on two players who may have gone underappreciated in their early NBA careers.
Both players showed flashes of legitimate NBA production near the tail end of the 2023-24 season with Utah, and expectations were high coming into Summer League in what was supposed to be a loaded Jazz squad. Clearly, the product on the floor wasn’t enough to inspire hope for a spot in Utah’s future plans as it was announced both players would not be with the team moving forward.
