The Utah Jazz's roster is now down to the maximum number of 15 players to start the regular season, as the team on Saturday announced that it has waived forward Chris Johnson.
With the roster having been whittled down to 16 players on Thursday after the Jazz cut Henry Sims, there was question about whether or not the finally casualty in advance of the Oct. 24 deadline to finalize rosters would be Johnson or big man Jeff Withey, as they both have nonguaranteed contracts until Jan. 10.
While Johnson appeared in 70 games for Utah a year ago and Withey 51, Withey was widely seen as being more impactful.
