The last time the Utah Jazz took the court at Vivint Smart Home Arena, Gordon Hayward and his 51-win squad looked to avoid a second-round playoff sweep at the hands of the Golden State Warriors. Nearly five months later, things couldn’t be more different as the Jazz prepare for their return to the Viv.
Not only has the team changed, but the building itself has been reborn after undergoing a $125-million renovation. In other words, it’s the perfect backdrop for a new-look Jazz band to tip-off its 2017-18 calendar in historic fashion.
On October 2, the Rudy Gobert-led Jazz will open up preseason play against the NBL’s Sydney Kings.
