While the Jazz had a good preseason overall (4-2), they lost the final game by 38 points (86 to 124) at the hands of a divisional rival, the Portland Trail Blazers. By midway through the 2nd quarter, this game was already out of the Jazz’s control. The leading scorer on the Jazz was 2nd year player and former Buckeye, Brice Sensabaugh with 13 points. No one else for Utah scored in the double digits. Portland had 7 players score in double digits, being led by Rayan Rubert’s 20 points and Jerami Grant’s 18 points.
While the Blazers shot incredibly well and made smart passes consistently, the driving factor in the blowout was the Blazers defense.
