Utah Jazz use hot start to burn Suns, 110-89

SALT LAKE CITY — Gordon Hayward led with 24 points and the Utah Jazz used a quick start to defeat the Phoenix Suns 110-89 Monday night at Vivant Arena.

Utah opened the game with a 22-7 run that lasted the first half of the first quarter before outscoring the Suns 33-21 in the quarter. Though Phoenix trimmed its deficit to single digits at points throughout the game, the Jazz led wire-to-wire in the win.

The Jazz, which hit 62 percent from the field in the opening quarter, finished the game shooting 46 percent from the floor.

Derrick Favors added 16 points and nine rebounds, while Rodney Hood chipped in with 14 more.
