Throughout preseason play, with Rudy Gobert dominating and Dante Exum playing lights-out, I never thought we’d get to a point in the season where a 36-year-old Joe Johnson’s presence would be this sorely missed by the Utah Jazz.
Sure, he contributed big-time in the playoffs last season and had some fine moments throughout the year. But here we are; Johnson has been MIA since October with a wrist injury and his absence has been a major blow for Utah.
The team won’t be missing him for much longer, though. Per an announcement from the Jazz, Johnson will make his long-awaited return on Friday against the Boston Celtics.
