SALT LAKE CITY — Utah will soon be home to two professional basketball teams.
The Utah Jazz are relocating their D-League team, the Idaho Stampede, from Boise to Salt Lake City for next season, sources confirmed to the Deseret News.
The Stampede became the Jazz’s sole D-League affiliate after the NBA organization bought the Idaho team last year to help improve its player, coaching and administrative development.
Moving the D-League team home — with Salt Lake Community College being the ideal location for convenience and crowd size — will allow the Jazz and the to-be-renamed minor-league squad to work even more in unison.
