An event more than thirty years in the making took place this week, thanks in large part to the efforts of former Utah Jazz big man Thurl Bailey. After writing a letter to President Barack Obama, he and his teammates from the North Carolina State Wolfpack squad that won the 1983 NCAA Tournament finally got what they missed out on after winning the title.
A trip to the White House and a visit with the President.
The school was unwilling to foot the bill at the time and NCAA rules prevented the team from accepting help from a local television station.
