Utah Jazz Shooting Woes: Fatigue Or Rust?

Monday’s preseason loss to the Portland Trail Blazers had many Utah Jazz fans reeling. It was another bad shooting night from a team filled with average, if not poor, shooters. The Jazz need to improve their shooting if they intend to make their organizationally veiled–but nevertheless apparent–goal of supplanting the Blazers, the Dallas Mavericks or the New Orleans Pelicans as the West’s eighth playoff team.

So what makes the Jazz so bad at shooting? Clearly they have a solid offensive scheme built by the gifted hand of spacing architect Quin Snyder. Gordon Hayward, Rodney Hood, Trey Burke, Alec Burks and Joe Ingles have all, at times, shown potential as shooters.
