There’s several reasons to feel disappointed and hurt by Gordon Hayward’s decision to spurn the Utah Jazz for the Boston Celtics, many of which have been touched on here at Purple and Blues several times already. However, perhaps one of the most devastating is that Hayward, the All-Star that had been groomed and developed for seven years in Utah, will leave the Jazz with absolutely nothing in return and with much of the free agent market already dried up.

Recent reports have surfaced that the Utah Jazz are now seeking to do a sign-and-trade with Boston that essentially would allow the Jazz to exchange Hayward, who’s already agreed to join the Celtics, for one of their players.
