Although Utah Jazz stars Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert didn’t suit up for the Western Conference in Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game, Rodney Hood, Raul Neto and Trey Lyles were in Toronto for the Rising Stars Challenge, showcasing the league’s rookie and sophomore talent.
While each had their All-Star moment, it was Hood that impressed the most. In what could be a preview of All-Star moments to come for the Jazz wing, Hood scored 11 points on five of six shooting, grabbed three rebounds, dished out three assists and collected a steal for Team USA–
In the end, the Americans outlasted Team World, capturing a 157-154 victory in what was typical, All-Star Game fare.
