At the 2017 NBA Awards show in June, the Utah Jazz were shut out from receiving any individual hardware. While big man Rudy Gobert joined four other players on the All-Defensive First Team (to add to an All-NBA nod announced in May), he failed to capture Defensive Player of the Year or Most Improved Player honors.
Meanwhile, Jazz coach Quin Snyder was not among finalists for Coach of the Year after finishing sixth in the voting.
However, current Jazzman Ricky Rubio and four Jazz alums did get recognized as part of the NBPA’s Players Voice Awards announced on Friday.
