Although preseason hoops don’t tip-off until October 2, Utah Jazz signee Thabo Sefolosha will hit the court this weekend. The defensive stalwart will join LA Lakers forward Luol Deng as co-captain of Team Africa for a bout with NBA players from around the world in the second edition of the NBA Africa Game.
Emanating from the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg, South Africa, the game serves to benefit charities like the Nelson Mandela Foundation and UNICEF.
Sefolosha has been involved with the Association’s efforts in Africa since entering the league more than a decade ago.
