When the Utah Jazz took Joel Bolomboy with the No. 52 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, it was a popular move among fans in Salt Lake City. Bolomboy had been the Big Sky Player of the Year and an AP Honorable Mention All-American just 35 miles up the road at Ogden’s Weber State University.
Just over a year later, his tenure with the Jazz may be on shaky ground.
Following a 2016-17 campaign during which he played in just 12 games with the Jazz and spent much of the season with the Salt Lake City Stars (of G-League fame), Bolomboy looked to forward to getting his first real shot in the league next season.
