Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell’s acts of goodness have him up for Seasonlong NBA Cares Community Assist Award

SALT LAKE CITY — There’s the autographed sneaker giveaway before every home and away game.

And the $25,000 scholarship he surprised Naja Brooks, the daughter of his fourth-grade teacher, with following the March 21 game in Atlanta.

As recently as Sunday, second-year Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell even acted as a good Samaritan on the scene of a Utah auto accident where he got out and offered assistance on 400 South and West Temple.

"I just wanted to make sure everybody was OK," Mitchell told Ryan McDonald of the Deseret News following Game 4.
