I have to make a confession. I’m not a big fan of summer league basketball. As a general rule, it’s a little sloppy at the best of times and downright ugly at worst. There’s little flow, nothing to get emotionally invested in and not much to learn by watching the handful of actual NBA players involved beat up on guys who will be playing in Estonia or working at Home Depot once the regular season rolls around.
Having said that, Tuesday night’s summer league contest between the Utah Jazz and the Portland Trail Blazers was kind of amazing.
