The Utah Jazz made a major announcement on Monday; one that will affect the franchise for years to come. No, general manager Dennis Lindsey hasn’t acquired LeBron James from the Cavs, the team isn’t moving to Seattle or Las Vegas and the Miller family isn’t returning the Jazz moniker to New Orleans.
However, the news did concern a change of identity, namely what the marquee on the team’s home arena will say for the next ten years. That’s right, Jazz Nation–EnergySolutions Arena is no more.
Effective as of the team’s November 4 home opener against the Portland Trail Blazers, the building will be known as Vivint Smart Home Arena.
