WASHINGTON, D.C. — A balanced scoring night from their starters lifted the Utah Jazz to an important road win, 102-92 over the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center on Sunday afternoon.
All five Jazz starters scored in double-figures in the second game of a three-game road trip, and with the win improved to 17-11 on the road this season. Gordon Hayward paced the effort with 30 points, while George Hill added 21 and hit five 3-pointers. Rudy Gobert (15), Rodney Hood (11) and Derrick Favors (10) also scored in double-figures.
Utah built a 24-point lead in the third quarter and led by 18 with 6:58 to play before the Wizards, the Eastern Conference's third-place team, began to chip away at the lead and made it 95-89 on two Bojan Bogdanovic free throws with two minutes to play.
