PHOENIX — Rodney Hood scored a game-high 25 points and Gordon Hayward added 22 more as the Utah Jazz cruised past the Phoenix Suns 98-89 Saturday night for the Jazz's sixth straight win.
Utah (25-25) opened the game by scoring 10 straight points and never looked back from that, leading 31-12 at the end of the first quarter. After taking a 53-35 halftime lead, the Jazz continued to maintain their lead in the second half.
The Suns trimmed their deficit to 94-88 with 1:35 to go in the game, but Utah grabbed the wire-to-wire win.
The Jazz shot 44 percent from the floor in the win, while holding the Suns to 38 percent shooting.
