It’s mid-way through the third quarter of their EuroBasket 2017 opener and France is moving in transition. Former Utah Jazz big man Boris Diaw receives the ball on the right elbow, but is quickly checked by Erik Murphy. The paint begins to fill when, suddenly, Diaw zips a pass by three of Murphy’s teammates to a streaking Evan Fournier for the bucket.
Clearly, the old man can still play a little. In Les Bleus’ debut at EuroBasket, he even manged to log more court time than anyone else in the game.
Whether or not that’s a sign he’ll be back this fall for season No.
