In perhaps the biggest game of the season, the Utah Jazz faltered against the veteran-heavy Mavericks, falling 101-92 to Dallas Monday night in Salt Lake City.
The Jazz (40-41) are now tied with the Houston Rockets for the final Western Conference playoff spot, and Utah's playoff hopes all come down to the outcomes of Wednsday's games—the Jazz must win against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Rockets must lose at home to the Sacramento Kings.
The Mavericks (42-39) clinched a playoff berth with the win.
Gordon Hayward led the Jazz with 26 points, while Shelvin Mack (18 points) and Derrick Favors (11 points) also scored in double figures.
