Strong second quarter, 3-point shooting lift Jazz to blowout win over Trail Blazers

SALT LAKE CITY — For the first time this week, shooting woes didn't plague the Utah Jazz on Thursday night as they beat Portland 109-96 at Vivint Arena.

The Jazz shot 50 percent from the field and hit 15-of-33 3-pointers, a big improvement after the team shot 33.3 and 35 percent from the field in its previous two games this week. Utah blew the game open in the second quarter by outscoring the Trail Blazers 32-14 in the period.

Trey Burke sparked the Jazz coming off the bench, scoring a team-high 27 points while shooting 12-of-19 from the field.
