Gordon Hayward famously avoided luxury purchases early in his NBA career. As a rookie, when he was making $2.3 million a year, the Utah Jazz forward steered away from high-priced sports cars and bought a Honda Accord. On a trip to New York City, he skipped the Michelin-star restaurants and searched out an Olive Garden.
Now, in the second year of a four-year $63-million contract, it seems Hayward is willing to splurge a little more.
The Los Angeles Times on Friday reported that the 25-year-old Jazzman had recently purchased a $3.5 million home in Rancho Sante Fe, Calif.
