SALT LAKE CITY — As conversations continue within the NBA to try to find a way to resume games, one of the summer’s most anticipated basketball events, the Drew League, has been canceled.
The Drew League is a pro-am summer league held in Los Angeles that has featured some of the NBA’s most notable players and has been a huge draw for celebrities, college players, and hoop junkies of all kinds.
LeBron James, Kevin Durant, DeMar DeRozan, James Harden, and the late Kobe Bryant have all been Drew League participants in the past.
“Drew League is a summer tradition that we look forward to and while we share in the disappointment of the fans, the health and safety of our athletes and community is our top priority,” read a statement released by the league.
