As part of their bid to keep 2017 All-Star Gordon Hayward with the franchise, the Utah Jazz are also looking to shore up their point guard position. Although he’s probably option No. 1, incumbent starter George Hill may come at too steep of a price for Jazz GM Dennis Lindsey to keep him in Salt Lake City.
So, in an effort to bolster their roster while sweetening the deal for Hayward, the Jazz have been working the phones in search of a bona fide, veteran floor general. In the days before the 2017 NBA Draft, the team was linked to both Houston Rockets point guard Patrick Beverley and Ricky Rubio of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
