In the aftermath of the Utah football team's thrashing of Oregon last Saturday, many have expressed the idea that the Utes had just burst onto the national radar.
While Utah certainly made a statement by rolling over the Ducks, ESPN's Kevin Gemmell argues that Kyle Whittingham and company have been relevant for much longer than a few days.
"No, Utah has been here a while," he wrote. "There’s a reason that, over the summer, UCLA’s Jim Mora and USC’s Steve Sarkisian said they dreaded playing Utah. The Utes have been quietly stalking and making a name for themselves within the league.
