Former BYU basketball star Jimmer Fredette's NBA career is hanging by a thread as he begins training camp with the San Antonio Spurs, and a report from Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News on Tuesday indicated that the guard is in a fight for the final spot on the roster.
In a story about how Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich will have to play "mad scientist" because of the many new faces on his team, news about Fredette is brief but telling.
"NBA veterans Jimmer Fredette and Rasual Butler remain in the mix for the final roster spot," McDonald writes.
