Longtime Utah Jazz chaplain Jerry Lewis remembered for sharing passion of God with players

SALT LAKE CITY — A longtime member of the Utah Jazz family took his last breath on Saturday.

Dedicated team chaplain Jerry Lewisdied earlier this afternoon around 1:30 p.m. in St. George from health complications, according to Jazz play-by-play announcer Craig Bolerjack.

His wife, Jean, also confirmed the news to the Deseret News. He was 80-years-old.

Sad news JazzNation. Longtime Jazz Chaplin Jerry Lewis, my friend and a man that reached out to so many NBA players, passed away this afternoon in St. George. He was a man of deep religious conviction and the ultimate Jazz fan.
