Jordan Clarkson hadn’t practiced or even gone through a shootaround with his new team when he arrived at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Thursday night. The sixth-year guard arrived in Utah that morning, completed his physical, and had a short film session with his new squad. But that wasn’t about to stop Jazz head coach Quin Snyder from using his newest weapon.
“He’ll probably get thrown into the fire,” Snyder said before tipoff against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Clarkson survived the flames, scoring nine points and recording a steal in 20 minutes off the bench in a 121-115 win over Portland.
