SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Jazz rookie Tibor Pleiss recently got a new accessory for his wardrobe.
His teammates, by the way, aren’t impressed.
Well, they might be, but good luck getting them to admit it.
As a fun incentive to improve free throws, Jazz players can earn a doctored boxing-style championship belt that declares them to be the team’s free throw champion.
Pleiss was the recipient of the first belt, which came to light recently when he posted a photo of him with his championship hardware hanging over his shoulder.
Pleiss said he’s made about 98 percent of the free throws (25 after each practice) that count toward the belt competition.
