Jazz have engaged Celtics in sign-and-trade talks surrounding Jae Crowder

The Utah Jazz could get something back from the Boston Celtics for Gordon Hayward after all.

ESPN reported Wednesday night that Jazz and Celtics brass have engaged in sign-and-trade talks that would send Boston forward Jae Crowder to the Jazz, although a deal is not imminent. The Celtics need to shed some salary to make room for Hayward, who agreed Tuesday to sign a 4-year, $128 million deal with Boston.

The Deseret News' Jody Genessy confirmed that the talks have taken place.

ESPN reported that the Celtics are also trying to unload the contracts of guards Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart to make room for Hayward.
