Jazz cut shooting guard Elijah Millsap

The Utah Jazz have waived shooting guard Elijah Millsap, a little less than 48 hours before the guarantee cut deadline.

Millsap, a 6-foot-4 wing defender out of Alabama-Birmingham, appeared in 67 games over two seasons with the Jazz. He averaged 4.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per night. He entered the season as Utah's fifth wing, and one of the better perimeter defenders on the team.

By cutting Millsap, the Jazz' roster now stands at 14 players. The move could open up future moves for the Jazz in the future, who have $7 million in cap space.
