In a thrilling, back-and-forth battle, the depleted Utah Jazz defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 92-87 in overtime. The victory gave the Jazz their third victory in four outings this week, their best stint for several weeks.
Why the Jazz won: With Utah resembling the walking wounded — still missing Derrick Favors, Rudy Gobert, Alec Burks and Dante Exum — several players stepped up. No one was more impressive than swingman Rodney Hood, who poured in a career-high 32 points and hit big shot after big shot. With the Memphis defense focusing much effort on Gordon Hayward, Hood took advantage.
