Guest commentary: Which former Utah Jazz player might be headed back to Salt Lake City?

It's been a long time since fans have been excited about the Utah Jazz.

After all these years of saying, “But they’ll be fun to watch,” it’s finally true.

Rudy Gobert has been a revelation. Quin Snyder has restored faith to the fan base. Dennis Lindsey has been as good as advertised. But there's really only one man to thank for the Utah Jazz's renaissance: Deron Williams.

As legend tells it, Williams chased out Jerry Sloan, which led to Tyrone Corbin, which led to a lot of losses and more lottery picks, which led to hiring Quin Snyder and a whole lot of player development in his first season — the $3 million in cash involved in the D-Will trade probably paid for at least some of the Jumbotron.
