Millsap was drafted 47th overall by the Utah Jazz in 2006. He immediately began outperforming expectations as a rookie, playing all 82 games and averaging 18 minutes per game, despite being a second-round rookie on a team featuring a crowded frontcourt with Carlos Boozer, Mehmet Okur, Andrei Kirilenko, and Matt Harpring.
