LAYTON — Former Utah Jazz player Robert Whaley will serve a jail sentence after pleading guilty to a felony burglary charge.
Second District Judge David Hamilton sentenced Whaley to 60 days with work release Monday for burglarizing a Layton Marriott Hotel last year, the Standard Examiner reports.
The 33-year-old man was ordered to turn himself in to the Davis County Jail Saturday.
Hamilton also ordered him to serve three years of probation and pay more than $1,000 in fines and restitution.
Security tapes showed Whaley entering the hotel through an employee entrance, going into a room with a locked gate, breaking into a drawer and taking cash.
