Ex-Jazzman Trey Lyles torches his former team with career night in Denver victory

DENVER — When Trey Lyles was traded away from the Jazz last summer, no one seemed to care that much because the Jazz were able to move up in the NBA Draft to snag Donovan Mitchell. Then when Mitchell turned out to be better than anyone ever dreamed, Lyles became a forgotten man.

After the way Lyles torched Utah Friday night, the Jazz may have second thoughts about letting Lyles go.

The 6-10 forward from Kentucky scored a career-high 26 points and led the Nuggets to their second blowout of the Jazz in 10 days with a 99-91 victory Friday night at the Pepsi Center.
