Dennis Lindsey and company still had a few more days before the deadline to trim the roster down to 15 players. But rather than keeping Jack Cooley, Bryce Cotton and other players around until the end, the Utah Jazz front office prefers to make decisions earlier.
"One of the thing about the timing is … players get an opportunity to get picked up by other teams," coach Quin Snyder said.
That’s certainly the case for Cooley, who was signed by the Cleveland Cavaliers last week after being released by the Jazz. And on Monday night, the 6-foot-8 center put together a nice audition tape for his new club, grabbing 15 rebounds in 18 minutes on the floor.
